About Me
Hi, Im Charlie.
I'm the photographer behind Taken In Motion, based in Oxfordshire. Dogs have been part of my life, especially when I was growing up. The family home was shared with as many as ten dogs at one time, so understanding their different personalities, energy levels and quirks has always come naturally to me.
Photography grew from a hobby into a passion because I realised the moments I loved most weren't the perfectly posed ones, they were the split seconds that revealed the dogs character.
I created Taken In Motion because I wanted to offer something different. Rather than treating pets like props, I believe they deserve the freedom to explore, play and simply be themselves. My job is to quietly capture those moments, creating photographs that feel honest, natural and full of character.
Forget the pressure of a typical studio or the stress of back-to-back appointments. We simply walk and talk, letting the session evolve naturally based on how your dog feels. There's zero stress for the animals or the owners; we just focus on the moment. If we find a stunning new backdrop, we explore it. If your pet needs a rest, we take one. When we find that perfect golden light, we pause to capture it.
Real magic happens when the camera becomes invisible and we just enjoy the day.
Session Guide
Drop me and E-mail or message and I can get you booked in for a photoshoot. I charge the same price regardless of the day or time.
We'll choose a location that suits you and your dog.
On the day expect plenty of walking, chatting and laughter.
I estimate spending between 1 and 2 hours with you but I don't watch the clock and I don't book back-to-back sessions, so there is no rush.
We will follow your dogs routine rather than forcing any process and there is no pressure for your dog to behave perfectly.
Most owners tell me the session feels more like a walk with a friend than a formal photoshoot.
After the shoot I will spend time editing the images and will provide you with a gallery to view within 7 days.
You can then choose your favourite 5 images, which are included in the price.
If you fall in love with more, you can purchase additional images.
1-2 hours session + 5 high-resolution digital images - £95
Additional images - £10 each
5 additional images - £40
(Session price includes travel within 20 miles of Didcot, Oxfordshire. For locations further afield a travel charge for 45p per mile applies. This will all be agreed when you book so there are no hidden costs.)
